Why Northern Michigan? 
Kelsey’s family has a home on Burt Lake (about 20 min from Petoskey) and she has spent time in Northern Michigan her entire life. It is a very special place to her and her family. Travis has visited several times throughout our relationship and absolutely loved it. It is a beautiful area of the country, especially in the summer, and we cannot wait to share it with you all! We understand that many of you are traveling for our wedding and we cannot thank you enough.

What airport should I fly into?
Please see ‘Hotel & Travel Information’ section of our website for additional details. We recommend flying into either Traverse City Airport or Pellston Regional Airport. TC is a much larger airport and will have more airline/flight options. Flying into Detroit (DTW) is also an option but would be ~4 hour drive. 

Do I need a rental car? 
If you are planning to spend some time exploring Northern Michigan before or after the wedding (which we highly recommend), it would be helpful to have a rental car. Uber/Lyft are available in Traverse City but are more scarce further north. If you are only spending the weekend in Petoskey for the wedding, you should be able to take a uber/lyft or taxi to/from the airport. I would recommend scheduling a taxi (using any Northern MI taxi service) to arrange transportation to the airport for your departing flight. 

Will there be transportation for the different wedding events? 
Yes! We understand that there are limited rooms at the Perry Hotel (our venue) and we have arranged for a shuttle to transport guests to/from the ceremony and reception. The Saturday shuttle will pick up/drop off guests at the Bayview Inn, Courtyard Marriott (Petoskey) and Hampton Inn (Petoskey). We also have arranged for a shuttle to transport guests to/from to the welcome reception at the Country Club of Boyne. The Friday shuttle will pick up/drop off guests at the Perry Hotel, Bayview Inn, Courtyard Marriott (Petoskey) and Hampton Inn (Petoskey). We will provide additional information about timing for the shuttles closer to the wedding date. 

Is there parking available at the Perry?
There is parking available at the Perry for those that are staying at the hotel. For those of you that are planning to drive to the ceremony/reception or brunch, there are inexpensive nearby parking lots and metered street parking that is available (and likely free in the evenings). 

We are planning to make a vacation out of the trip! Where else should we go? 
Take a look at the ‘some great places to check out while you are here’ section of our website for some of our favorite recommendations! We would highly recommend taking a day trip to Mackinac Island while you are here. We also included some information on surrounding lake towns that are very charming! Please feel free to reach out to us if you need any suggestions!

Are children welcome? 
While we would love to have your children join in the celebration, we have decided to keep our wedding adults-only (apart from some family members) so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We hope you will take this as a chance for a special date night! If this is a major barrier to you being able to attend our wedding, please feel free to reach out and we will do what we can to accommodate. 

What should I wear? 
For our ceremony and reception, our recommended dress code is formal/cocktail attire. For the welcome reception, we recommend smart casual attire. Feel free to dress casually for the farewell brunch.
